FISH EYE PHOTOS

Hey folks!

These are pipin hot pics I just got developed. I can't tell you how much I love film cameras, especially this one. All the excitement of not knowing what's gonna come out. Yeaha!
I am extremely happy about the outcome, ohhh sunny weather makes everything look/ feel better! I wish it could last forever. Check those vibrant summery colours, it's all happening in Brighton.
The last photo is not but it's an amazing example of how you create a texture on a building for example.
I first shot manhole then I did another shot over it of a building and the sky. Whenever there is sky, everything else disappears as it's so bright.

LEZILUS + NOBROW

Hey, remember the last time I was mentioning this super cool A6 book I got myself the other day?
I found it! It's been put together by Lezilus based in Paris. I love their design. Intrigued? Go to their website and check artist profiles, they are just too good.
If you wanna get your hands on,
go to Nobrow, 62 Great Eastern Street, London, EC2A 3QR.

It's a gallery and studio so worth visiting. There is a lot of illustration stuff there, mainly from their own production. I personally really loved Jack Teagle's illustration style, it's funny and good lookin.
Here is some of his stuff I've spotted in Nobrow - you can buy his artwork there.

INSPIRATION: PTARMAK

Everyone that knows me is aware of how much I love the retro business.
I stumbled upon a group of "designers, writers, artisans & thinkers" hiding under PTARMAK name, based in the States.
I've selected a few of the coolest pieces of their work. That beverage packaging really does it for me. It's cool, it's different and it's got that screen printed feel.

URBAN LUSH: my London book

This is the whole of my Urban Lush London book. It is A6 size version (original is A5) and it's a bit different layout as before (better!). At the moment I'm totally obsessed by A6 sized books and I just wanna make millions of them. They are just so handy and cute. I first fell in love with them when I bought...Damn, I misplaced it! Can't remember what the title was either.
Well, I guess we just figured the problem with little books, they are so small you can't find them! Oh well, will let you know when
I find it again. Until then -

MY LONDON MAP

As a part of the London book project I've created my personal London map.
It's got a lot of detail so make a cuppa, you'll be here for a while ; )
I've really enjoyed the journey, hope you do to.

COLLAGE: MODS VS ROCKERS

This is a collage I've just created and I plan to screen print it when I get back to uni. It's gonna be red, blue and b/w. It is the 2nd one in the Mod series, portraying the on going clashes between Mods and Rockers. Can't wait.

Oschon Wespi-Tschopp: Breton Brut

I like it. It's got something that's been forgotten in time, a bit dreamy, retro with nice colours. You can check the artists blog for more cool stuff.

It might have something to do with my affinity to starry skies and colour halftones, as I also
like Midnight Juggernauts" Dystopia album art designed by Small Studio.

SKETCHBOOK

DeAR Whoever you are,

It's summer time! Uni's closed for the season so I'm left to do whatever I will.
The only thing I really miss is the printing studio : (
But nowadays, I love goin out in the sun, sitting in a park or a cafe and just doodling away. It's sooooo relaxing, very meditation like.
Here's some stuff from my sketchbook, one's not finished yet. Taking it e-z....

MOD SCREEN PRINTS READY!!

You remember when I said I'm gonna screen print Mod poster (the collage I've created in Photoshop)? This is it! It was a bit of a process as I had to print 4 layers but next time I'll do it much faster. Things I need to be aware of the next time:
- get the first layer straight ( I just did a random print without any pre-consideration)
- use bigger/straight acetate
- make a decision where exactly layers fit on the image
- be less messy

Besides the above mentioned, I am super pleased with the outcome as it looks exactly (well, better) that the one I have generated in Photoshop.
More to come!

WEST VS EAST LONDON

Double exposures representing the differences between wealthy West and poorer East London.
(West - Old Bond Street/ East- Kingsland Road, Bricklane)

JELLY BABIES INVASION

London can be amazing but so bloody stressful and hectic as well. This is why I set this project - to bring a smile on your face and/ or to fill your mind with positive messages. Simple as that.
I have done round 1, Shoreditch area. Coming to Bricklane and other areas in the East.
Why Jelly Babies? Because they are cult British jellys and because they were first called Peace Babies (to announce the end of World War One).
