MONOPRINTING

It's crazy how much you can achieve with simple techniques like this! I mean, it pretty much reminds me of playing around when we were kids. It's something I would combine with other media for even more striking effect. It also works brilliantly if you wanna portrait the atmosphere of a place.

ISOTYPES

Nice workshop. We used random materials to represent the statistics, in this particular case, reasons for homeless people becoming homeless. We wanted to create meanings for materials so they would connect to the actual problems. After trying one thing and then a few others we have agreed on something that quite successfully represents it. Cut out bottles for alcoholism, jelly beans for drugs and stones& pins for mental health problems all put in a graph to show the exact percentage.

TIME LAPSE

Just met my mate down at uni yesterday and she was tellin me 'bout the things she was doing. She has created this cool time lapse movie of the day going into night and the traffic buzzin around etc. I was well impressed!I wanna do something like that! She was literally sitting next to her window the whole day and pressing the release button on the camera every 5 mins. Now, you can get automatic release thingie but considering we're all poor students I'll probably have to DIM as well. I think she edited it in iStopMovie after takin thousands of photos.
Here's an example of time lapse

FRANC GROM: EGG SHELL ART

Just to go along Easter holidays I am exposing Slovenian egg shell crafts master Franc Grom.
His Easter eggs are called "VrhniĆĄki pirhi" (Easter eggs from Vrhnika) and they are created by drilling little holes in the egg shell. The motifs are inspired by Slovenian ethnographic heritage. His work has impressed many people including the Japanese emperor that made a special order for his art collection.
Well impressive!
