SECRET LONDON: MY ROBOT FRIENDS

This is the rough layout and the elements that I plan to include in Secret London guide spread. Just tried to express the abundance and diversity of products in the shop and its rich and colourful feel.

A-Z: ANALOGUE/ TESSELLATION

I like to move it move it I like to MOVE IT! I got this bag full of shit vinyls at home, still don't know where they came from. I'm moving house in about half a year so my plan for this time is to use as much stuff as I don't need and try to make something out of it. So I thought I might as well print on them, could be quite cool. This a first attempt, very random one. It was a white label and I never bothered to read what it says. When I gave it another look I realized it's Reel 2 Reel!!!!! You remember?! I'm sure everyone does. So, I laid down some text and got busy, this is the result! I really like it, mad business!

BLOG

This was published on Frank Design blog! Yes it is me! Thank you guys!

FRANK DESIGN

I was doing my work placement with Frank Design a few weeks ago. Respect is due, they are truly beautifully creative and nice people on top of it! I am very delighted I could be part of the Frank world. Some of their work is absolutely gorgeous & I can assure you, there's more great stuff coming up. I especially love their use of textures & vernacular elements. Amongst others, they've created the website for Caravan which is full of elements but they somehow manage to work in harmony. Not an easy thing to do. I also really like their FatboySlim site. Keep your eyes open on their creative space!

SOMETHING TO REMEMBER: I'M GOING LIVE!

I'm over the moon! Why? The guys from Frank Design (where I was onna work placement) have just informed me that after two weeks of thinking, the client has chosen my idea/design! Yeahhaaaaaaaahhha! I'm so excited! I never expected it, really! As you can imagine this helps boosting my design confidence a bit, I really needed a step forward and I'm ready for the real thing more than ever. Will let you know when the website really goes live but until then, this will have to do. Enjoy!

LETTERPRESS: TODAY IS A GOOD DAY

Hello my lovelies! Back to uni since Mon, wasting no time. I am trying to put together a series of letterpress posters and "Today is a good day" is the first one in line. I think next one might be "I hate x-mas" especially cause I can't bare to listen about it anymore (and it's only Oct!!!!!).
Anyways, as you probably know, letterpress is pretty damn time consuming, especially if you don't really know what you're doing. But, persistency and patience is the key to everything so I'm moving on and these are a few beginning steps of the process.

KEMISTRY GALLERY: LOU DORFSMAN

What a beautiful sunny day! Took my bike for a ride& went down to Shoreditch. Wanted to see what's on in Kemistry Gallery.
AAAAAA mad typography business!
I wanna do something like that as well!
Top works are by Kemistry Gallery, reproductions of the original.
Bottom works are by Lou Dorfsman, creative director of CBS Television.
His work is beautifully subtle but striking at the same time, as opposed to aggressive advertising (that turns you away) we are confronted with nowadays.
Bottom two images are a reproduction of the 40ft mural that was decorating CBS TV cafeteria wall for over 20 years. Gastrotypographicassemblage named by Lou was his idea but executed with the help of
typographers Herb Lubalin and Tom Carnase, designer Stanley Glaubach and colleagues Nick Fasciano & Rick Anwyl. The mural was taken off the cafeteria wall in the early 90s and is
still under restoration. It will (hopefully) soon find its home in the Culinary Institute of America in New York - open to public. I'll be there!
